IUI coming up next cycle

Well, this cycle started on Dec 5th. And ifI didn’t get pregnant my period was projected to come Jan 01. What a lovely way to start the new year. But for the first time in more than a year, I ovulated early on Cycle Day 12 instead of Cycle Day 14. So my period is now predicted to arrive on Dec 30th. Well, I think I ovulated early – I got nipple pain (a sure sign of ovulation) on CD12. The things we learn about our body!

We had our first visit with the reproductive endocrinologist this month on Dec 13th. And we scheduled to an Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) next cycle. So I bought my clomid (50mg) for ovarian stimulation, and the bloody expensive antibiotics for my fiancé. Doc says he has to take it to make sure there are no viruses in his system. And if he so much as gets a cold then we have to cancel the cycle.

She is also doing the Day 3 hormone tests this cycle. Not sure I want it – if any of the hormones comes back anything but normal, they are going to categorise me as old or deficient and probably not want to treat me further because my chances to get pregnant are ‘reduced’. I know I need to think positively, but it is such a challenge for me in this area of my life.  I have had so many negatives – 5 years of it.

But I have to believe that this will work. I have to. We cant really afford invitro. So this has to work.
