Acupuncture and herbs failed us again

Well, its been exactly one month since I posted. We decided not to go the IUI route yet on this cycle of trying to get pregnant. That worked out well as the doc called to say that given that hubby has a really high sperm count she wants me to do a dye test – HSG, where dye is inserted into your tubes to see if the tubes are clear. Well, you have to do this test in the first 10 days of your cycle and when I called to schedule I found out that you are not supposed to have intercourse which we had had. So the dye test had to wait til next cycle.

Hubby keeps joking that apparently we aren’t allowed to have any sex while we are trying to have a baby. You see the natural healing doctor put me on a herb regime and indicated that we were to abstain from intercourse for the week before Ovulation in order to build the passion. And the passion is not just for each other but for the desire to get pregnant. That was this cycle. He also stuck some acupuncture needles in me just before ovulation to open up the passage so the sperm could travel freely and we could finally get pregnant. Given that I have my period right now, I guess it did not work.

So today I called to schedule my dye test. It is on Friday morning. Am a little scared of it. I expect it might be a bit painful given my partially blocked cervix but I am trying to think positive. I recall a few ladies getting pregnant after the HSG test. Apparently it cleared up the tubes a bit more and aided in conception. So I am hopeful that maybe this is the little kick that we need to get pregnant.
