A rocky start to TCM for infertility
to Getpregnantblog.com “The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.”
So how has it been going? Not very quickly. I had diagnosed myself with Liver Qi stagnation and Blood statsis. Given my age, my dietary changes included giving up meat and eggs, dairy products, refined flour products and processed foods. I gave up meat, but flour and sugar were a great challenge.
I simply could not stop eating the chocolates – every day I ate it. I got so frustrated with myself because I knew I wanted the baby but I could not seem to give up this sweet. I was determined too though. I would give it up for my baby. Right then, I felt as if I deserved the reward of the chocolate to compensate for all the stress and trauma I was going through in this journey and in my work life.
I did the acupressure and massage off and on. It started off regularly but fell off. I also did meditation and light aerobic exercise off and on. I aimed to do them daily. I will try to share a little about TCM and what it advocates every now and then. Am not an expert but I can tell you what I have read and believe. Of course, your best bet is to visit a registered TCM practitioner to get your own personalized diagnosis and treatment plan. I wish I could do this but there is none where I live. I considered phone consultations with Dr. Lewis at some point when I can scrape up the money. But for now I can give you an idea of what its all about. As always if you want to try anything please discuss it with your doctor first and be aware that herbs though natural are medicines and can have drastic effects on you and even interactions with other medications you are taking. That’s it for my disclaimer.
Tomorrow I will start to bring you up to date as to where we are now in May 2009.
